Jamie Mitchell, Currumbin, Gold Coast, Australia, may be the world’s best all around waterman of all time. The man lives and breathes ocean, adventure, travel, competition, and hard work. He is the 10x Molokai to Oahu Paddle Board Race Champion and holds paddle titles for every major contest in the world. When he is not paddling, he loves to chase huge swells around the world. Whether he is towing or paddle-in surfing, Jamie puts it all on the line when the conditions are maxing. In 2008, Jamie was nominated for the Billabong XXL “Biggest Paddle-in Wave” for a bomb he caught at Todos Santos. That same year he finished second in the “Nelscott Reef Big Wave Classic” paddle-in division, finishing 6th for the tow-in portion. In 2012, he won the “Biggest Paddle-in Wave Award” at the Australian Big Wave Awards, and won the “Waterman of the Year Award” from the Australian Surfing Hall of Fame. Look for Jamie to continue to dominate in the largest surf on the planet and continue his strangle hold on the world elite paddle scene.
